More before and after pics

This is looking down towards the basement bathroom.  The bathroom is finally gone, as is the smell!!   Nick and Noah will forever remember this rennovation (unfortunately) since they opened the wall to find a pile of at least 40 dead mice skeletons (in one sixteen inch stud section), sheet rock that was black with mold and ceiling full of mouse poop!!!    All we can think about is how gross this house had to smell when these mice first died!!!!  ABSOLUTELY 100% DISGUSTING!!!

Starting the second floor. The three windows on the first floor are the girls rooms. At this point, Emma is no longer stressed she will have a small room, because she called dibs on the biggest one. Leave it to the oldest to pull rank!!!!!

The First Day of School

4th grade

Kindergarten....WOW, I can't believe it!!!

Audrey started preschool a couple weeks later and is loving it!  It's so cute how big she thinks she is:)

Building, Gutting, Building and Gutting.....

Well, after find mold and everywhere and 100's of dead mice skeletons, we decided to pretty much gut the entire flipping house...even the ceiling.    So, while Nick and Noah continued on the new addition, Robert and I (mostingly Robert) spent hours pulling off sheet rock and bagging 56 55 gallon bags of insulation out of the attic.  That doesn't include all the insulation from the walls.  Very nasty job needless to say.

Mice tunnels in the walls.  This pretty much how the majority of the outside walls looked like!!!! YIKES!!!

This is insulation free master bedroom and front room.  The wall between the two rooms (which were the kitchen walls) were full of dead mice.   Can you even imagine a dinner date at the house prior to this?   Not very appetizing!!!!

This was the one room we were going to leave alone, but the smell was not going away, so we decided to gut it as well....thank goodness, full of dead mice and previous termite damage.    I thought I had a picture, but I can't find it, but about 50% of the back of that cabinet was eatten up by termites.

After a long break from blogging, because my computer crashed and I lost everything from the last 7 years,  I am finally back online posting some new pics with the help of Starbucks and Robert's computers!  Tons of changes have been made and it the house is really taking shape, eventhough it doesn't look like it:)   

I am going to go back 6 weeks and start from there.....

The foundation to the new addition is getting ready to get poured.....so after the excitement of seeing some progress, the girls, minus Audrey, and I loaded the car for Chicago to take Emma to Diabetes Camp, which she had a ball (other than getting a little homesick the first couple of days)

After dropping Emma off at Camp, Abby and I enjoyed a week with friends in Yorkville & Naperville and had a great time.  Abby had a ball, she spend several days with Keagan and Kennedy and a sleepover with her friend Jake.  She was in hog heavan

 Frog catching in Trish's window well, once the picture was taken, chaos followed when the frogs started jumping and three screaming kids attempted to sprint through a small window to get the hell out of the window well!!!!!! 

Mom had a great time too seeing everyone and watching Alisha color Julie's hair.  Trish and I were a great support!!!!!

Robert joined us at the end of the week to pick up Emma.  We decided to spend one last night in Yorkville at the Thomson's so Emma could see her old friends as well.   When we got back to Mound City, we were pleased with the progress that had been made......other than Emma stressing that her room was going to be too small!
